WELCOME to ApophysisStash

Here you can find information on designing and saving flames and adding backgrounds to them. There is also a section on post-processing with the steps explained. Everything is free and the parameters used are there with the pictures for you to copy and paste if you want them - unfortunately a few in the first section are missing  8-(

At present there are five sections active with possibly more to follow. Click on green links below to view them

WHAT'S IT ALL ABOUT?

Apophysis is a free fractal flame generating program. To download it, see link below . It will generate random pictures and a few may be spectacular. But, by learning how to manipulate the basic triangles and by using scripts, you can produce your own magical output.

You can see some of what is possible on this site. There are several other brilliant sites around, many on Deviant Art - link below. There are also free tutorials on these places and an active discussion forum too.

Few of these sites offer the parameters of their flames so others can reproduce them. This is often for the reason that they want to sell actual pictures for framing and display and it is perfectly acceptable. Here, however, the flame parameter details accompany the pictures and you can freely copy and paste them into your apophysis program. Instructions on how to do this accompany each flame file. The resulting flame may not look like the picture you see because a background will usually have been added. If you render the flames yourself as .png files, you can add your own background, resize them, increase the resolution, etc. See the background section.

Although given free, these graphics are copyright. They may be used for non-commercial purposes but please don't claim them as your own - it's easy enough to adapt them to look different. If used commercially permission must be sought, see below, or they must be further processed or altered to appear substantially different from the original.
